Biannual Round-Up (i): 2026

Many lovely things have happened so far this year.

My short story “The Department of Unjust Histories” was a finalist for a 2026 RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers. You can read the story here or listen to the audiobook.

I reviewed Emily LaBarge’s memoir Dog Days for The Toronto Review. I profiled authors David Szalay and Emily St. John Mandel for NUVO Magazine. I was invited to cover Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival and In The Mood Magazine’s Voice Over event, which featured ekphrastic responses to experimental short films.

I read from “The Department of Unjust Histories” at the Writers’ Trust of Canada’s gala for the Bronwen Wallace Award in Toronto and at Yolk Literary Journal’s Bronwen Wallace Award Readings in Montreal. I read new work at Offal Literary Salon (iii) at Public Records in Brooklyn, New York.
